On March 19, 1998 British Antarctic Territory issued a set of four 'History of Mapping' stamps. The 16 p value (Sc #253) of the set depicts a surveyor looking through a theodolite, ca. 1902-3.  |

On December 28, 1973 Pakistan issued this 20 paisa stamp (Sc #359) to commemorate the centenary of the discovery of the leprosy bacillus by Dr. Gerhard Hansen. From wikipedia, "Gerhard Henrik Amauer Hansen (1841-1912) was a Norwegian physician, remembered for his identification of the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae in 1873 as the causative agent of leprosy."  |

This April 14, 1964 2 pence value (Sc #298) of Malta is from the two-stamp set commemorating the Anti-brucellosis Congress. Stamp depicts a microscope, David Bruce (1855-1931) and Themistocles Zammit (1864-1935). Bruce and Zammit independently discovered/identified brucellosis.  |
