Hi All,
A familiar story I guess, rekindling a childhood hobby..
Recently retired, my wife and I started to attend local auctions to buy a few things for the new house. Noticing the huge variety of items that make up the lots in these auctions, I suggested (only half-heartedly) that we have some sort of competition between us on the lines of UK TV show 'bargain hunt' except that the items would be bought at auction and sold wherever we could. She thought this would be fun, so we set off with £200 each and one year to make as much of it as we could.
Rather foolishly, I proclaimed 'I'm only going to buy and sell stamps - I used to collect them with my dad when I was little'.
Needless to say I'm now several hundred pounds down and hooked again on stamp collecting while my wife has quite a successful little
ebay business!.
Not decided what to collect yet, but very keen on detective work (New Zealand and US stamps excellent for this). I won't be collecting anything expensive mind you, unless I can just find that one rarity among all these ...
Pete.
