Another Washington-Franklin Series Questions.

So I am starting to sort some pages I have and have not worked much with US so far. I have some questions if those with more experience can help. I searched here and seen a lot of posts on this series and there are of course many varieties. A LOT. Im pretty sure these 3 Stamps are not valuable so im not looking for the holy grail here but trying to get a handle on some of the finer points that I don't know about. I have also read the Stamp Smarter article on this series and found it very interesting and a good place to start. But still..... Any help appreciated. A few questions

- Using Clarity I cannot seem to see any watermarks on the One Cent Franklin or 2 Cents Washington. I also wonder if this is because the envelope paper is still attached? Can anyone tell - paper residue? Franklin yes, Washington, no?? Should be double line USPS right?

- Is the Franklin a booklet stamp? Sc 331 ?

- 2 Cents Washington - Sc 406 / 409 ? Should be a single line USPS but I cant see any... What is the color, carmine or lake? Then there is a deep carmine. I also have looked at TYPE varieties and have trouble there too. The images is Scott are hard for me to tell. Any help appreciated on TYPE ID.

- 5 Cents I think is unwatermarked - but because I see none in the other two, who knows??? But I think its Sc 504

Well come to the joys of the WFs.

5 cent unwatermarked 11x11 is 504

2 cent 12x12 only comes two ways, 406 and 406a (booklet panes of 6, singles would have at least one straight edge). This 406/406a 12x12 only comes single line watermarked. It can be faint and could be hiding under the paper. No harm soaking the paper off then check again.

1 cent 12x12 comes single line (331) or double line (374). It also comes as booklet panes of 6, 331a and 374a, a single from either would have a straight edge or two.

Soaked and soaked. No paper coming off. Going to have another looksie in the am. At least no more hinges.

here is a watermark as that is the only way the stamp comes. It is just that the way the watermark on the paper is, it is not necessarily significantly present on all stamps. If the extra paper will not leave via a soaking, then leave it be. Now if you try to dip it again, do so and then immediately raise it to a strong backlight. That may let you see the mark under the adhering paper.
