Very awesome stamps posted here. I love this stuff. I guess it was somewhere around 30 years old when I realized if I was going to do this I would do it right. I would rather have VLH instead of off center or imbalanced stamps. I knew then (30 years ago) as I know now that this would make me happier. My 49 year old collection has had its starts and stops. A failed business in the mid-90s and raising two kids always prioritized things for themselves. Here I am with a small but quality focused collection. I just purchased a Scott US #1 last week. This is one I always wanted and now that I can afford it it feels so.....good. Next a #2. Then plate blocks of c18, c13 and c3. I am like a little kid again, this time with some cash.

One of my favorites - a used C3. I've been thinking about getting a mint one for quite some time but can't bare to replace this one in the album. Color and unobtrusive cancel can't be beat.

I got this 26 years ago from a dealer called "Berkshire" ... I think they were in CT. Anyone else recall them? They had net price lists but also mail auctions.

Rogdcam - could be. My records show I started buying things from them in 1975. After a collecting pause, picked it buying from them again in the 1990's. I think they might have been two people running it.

Funny thing was their auctions. You'd call in a bid for an item and he might say something like "someone's higher". I'd keep upping it till he stopped saying that!
