From all appearances I'm saying Scott #7, type II. But it looks like a guide dot lower right. So I know you guys will know. Any quick takes? Thanks.

I don't concur. It is a Type IV.

OK, so I spent a lot of time, using the Siegel guide dot pages to find any positions with guide dots like this one and not recut on the bottom. Absolutely no luck. I looked at the best matches multiple times and just can't do it. So obviously this could be a type IV if recut only on top. I also went through all the type IVs with recut at top only. But I just am not seeing it. No one else needs to spend time on this. It's my problem, and I'm just walking away at this point. If anyone has any more ideas, I'm happy to look. But I'm just not meant to be a plater.

Ok. I wanted you to sink some time into it. Yes, I know, I'm mean and cruel. Plating and 1c stamp ID is not really something a person can just decide to do. It requires the investment of significant amounts of time and money. Not everybody appreciates that.

Your stamp is 29L1L, a Type IV, Scott #9.

Thanks. I looked at that position and dismissed it because of the dot shown on the Nienken diagram at the LL. But now I see that the actual stamp images show that dot much further to the left beyond the edge of this stamp. I do appreciate the help.

You'd think I'd know better than this by now, guess not. Should have stated the obvious but was too lazy. Plating removes all doubt.
