This one may not qualify, the young lass could not find a cover big enough to take the stamp (5/- William Dampier Australia) |

Okay, the one question that I have is...where would you put a stamp that was that big in size???? Sounds like it's the same question as why did the chicken cross the road?..lol |

I regret that having sold my Indian States collection a couple of years ago I cannot give you an illustration but:
Long ago the stamp issuing Indian state of Sirmoor found they were left with a lot of unwanted postal stationery cards: so they used them as stamps, though I'm afraid - only revenue stamps not postal. And when I say they used them as stamps, they didn't use a stamp cutout - they clagged the entire postcard onto the relevant document. |

I got a text asking me if I was interested in selling this stamp ,I actually have this stamp in my stamp book front page for viewing , I can't tell you current value and pass value , I have had it long it has more sentimental value than anything I own in stamps "Human Rights". I'm surprise at how many text that I get of people viewing this forum. |

@BeeSee...your 1983 stamp is very interesting. Of particular interest to me is the alphanumeric section which I guess is for the postal code. Do you know why it was sold as a postage stamp? Or better yet, why it is only considered a cinderella if it was sold for usage as a postage stamp? |

Canadianphilatelist, it was an experiment by Canada Post conducted in Winnipeg in 1983 and a few other cities in 1984 for holiday mail. The idea was that if the customer entered the postal code in the boxes themselves, the machines would sort then faster by reading the matrix and it even allowed for a lower postal rate I think. Later on, card companies were part of the experiment by printing special boxes on the envelope. This is a complete side specialty of postal history on how the experiment evolved overall several years and was eventually dropped. As I said before, the stamps SHOULD have full catalog status. |

Here's a contender. Canada's $10.00 Blue Whale issued October 4, 2012. SC #2405. Issued in a two stamp pane as a valid postage stamp. Each stamp is: 128mm x 49mm or 12.8cm x 4.9cm or 5.0" x 2.0" |
