Hi everyone,

Does anyone know a J. Julian from High Point, North Carolina?
I received a #10 envelope with some USA precancels, and a small baggie of foreign material, which, to my knowledge, I didn't ask for. Puzzling because it has my full correct address on it.

I haven't traded anything for many years...

If anyone can help me contact J. Julian, I would appreciate it. Please send a mail to me if you can help...

John

"and a small baggie of foreign material"

Was it a leafy substance?
Sorry, couldn't resist.

I do remember that song.
One good thing about retirement, after 40+ years of government security clearances, no more random drug tests.

johnsim03: sorry for the Hy-jack, hope you find your guy.

Pat:

Well, I suppose I SHOULD HAVE worded that differently...

Parcelpostguy:

That's the one - thank you so much!

Now I can return this.

I had a strange thing happen a while ago on ebay that might explain the package. Something similar to this has happened twice, same day, both went about the same:

About a year ago I sold a package to someone in SC (the other was in NY). They contacted me and said they didn't order it. After a few messages, they remembered me from a purchase a few years back but had not ordered this package. I checked ebay and the recent sale was there in "Shipped and awaiting your feedback" but after looking at it the transaction number was a low# not inline with other sales and my copy of the invoice showed the paid date from years back.

I checked my postage meter logs and sure enough a little over 3 years prior I had a package go to that address. I contacted ebay who acknowledged what I was seeing but could not explain it. They "fixed" it and refunded their fees and eventually paid the return postage on the item.

Being in IT, I still wonder how this would have happened. Had to be a back-up glitch or DB error of some sort but guess I'll never really know. Chalk it up to 'FM'.
