Azerbaijan 2017 The Nature of Azerbaijan Ilandag is one of the rocky peaks that are scattered throughout the central Nakhchivan plains. This andesite-dacite volcanic neck is flanked by Tertiary igneous rocks above the alluvial plain. Some 350 mud volcanoes are located in the South Caspian Basin. Eruption of heated mud slurry is caused mainly by abnormal geopressure and prevalent leakage of nature gas in this petroleum-rich basin.   |

Azerbaijan 2019 The Nature of Nakhichevan Göygöl is a natural impounded lake situated at the footsteps of Murovdag, in the Lesser Caucasus. It was created in 1139 AD after an earthquake. The lake is flanked by Jurassic limestone formation dotted with basalt extrusions.  |

Uzbekistan 2004 Kitab State Geological Reserve Kitab State Geological Reserve, now a National Nature Park, is located in the Kitab region on the spurs of the Zarafshan range. Devonian siliceous and carbonate sediments deposited in the ancient Tethys Sea are rich in marine fossils. The area also features river valley with tilted limestone outcrops.  |

Nepal 1987 Mount Kanjiroba Mount Kanjiroba is the highest peak of the Kanjiroba Himal, a mountain range in the Tibetan-Tethys Himalayas Sequence. It comprises Cambrian to Tertiary argillo-arenaceous limestone. Nepal 1975 Ganesh Himal Ganesh Himal is a mountain range in the Central Himalayas with nine peaks. It belongs to the High Himalayan Crystalline Sequence and comprises Precambrian gneiss and quartzite.   |

Nepal 1971 Tourism Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur Himal, a section of the Himalayas that includes four of Earth's six highest peaks. The mountain is composed mostly of metamorphosed sedimentary rocks and is capped by fossil-bearing Ordovician limestone. Kangchenjunga is located in the Kangchenjunga Himal, which is part of the High Himalayan Crystalline Sequence. Its leucogranite peaks are flanked by Precambrian to Ordovician metamorphic rock formations and are carved by glaciation.   |

Bhutan 2002 Mountains Jomolhari (7326m above sea level) is located in western Bhutan, in the Tibetan-Tethys Himalayas Sequence. It is an isolated leucogranite body surrounded by Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary rocks. Teri Gang (7300m above sea level) is located in northern Bhutan, in the Tibetan-Tethys Himalayas Sequence. It comprises strongly folded and imbricated, weakly metamorphosed sedimentary rocks.   |
