I have inherited a large collection of stamps from my grandfather and father from all over the globe. He was born in the late 1800's and collected all his life..

I have enclosed a few pages of his stamps' to see if there is any interest and to see if there is any value. After reading a lot of posts I understand condition is everything and a photo hides a lot. Just an idea of worth and to see if anyone is keen..

Cheers
Levi

Levi,

looks like a good collection. my advice is to go to a local stamp club and let them look at the material or start to collect yourself as you have a good start.

Here are my two cents: this collection is not a shabby thing to have inherited. I'd recommend using stampworld.com to catalog all of these (remember, catalog value is not market value). Consider keeping them, rehousing them, and filling in the blanks; you don't come across these every day, and the collection as a whole wouldn't be cheap to replace.

The condition of the US is rough. The other stamps pictured look much, much better but I note that at least the Malaysian States stamps appear to be in crystal mounts or equivalent and likely need to be removed sooner than later. Looks to me like you should post more pics for review because you might have something really quite nice here. Congratulations!

I agree with the other comments. The US has a lot of condition problems. The rest seems much better. Show us some other countries.

The Australian postage dues are very nice stamps, particularly the emerald ones. The full set of the 1902-4 stamps, which you appear to have, has a catalog value of about $250. As others have noted however, catalog value is not what you would be able to realize from their sale. If you post more pictures, better focus would allow for better evaluation.
