Looks like these were out in the sun, partially. These are used, so no telling what exactly happened

With the staining of the paper, etc., I would lean toward a partial chemical immersion of some sort rather than sunlight. Bottom line: user/collector damage rather than a production variety.

Hi Pshann

This is the real thing in MUH condition (stamp on the left) from my collection and a favourite of mine. Originally the green tinted paper was described as an experimental printing, but is more likely the result of interrupted printing, the ink used for the first sheets once printing was resumed not being sufficiently thinned to be completely removed from the surface of the plate by the action of the wiper. It is a rare stamp and is valued at $1,250 MUH and $1,000 MLH. Only 30 are known to exist, there is no record of this stamp being used.
Unfortunately you do not have the rare stamp and I would say that John Becker's comment is the most likely reason why your stamp's shading is affected.

Funny though? The stamp on the right of the used pair appears to have the same characteristics as the green tinted one. It sure looks like green tinge in the border and in postage area.

Hi No1philatelist

It does, but it is common to see a regular stamp a little darker than usual, this is due to the mixture added. This occurred regularly creating different shades. I can assure you that the right stamp of the used pair is merely a different shade rather than the tinted paper. If you look at the word 'AUSTRALIA' on Pshann's stamp you will see that the green shading is not the same as the wording on the rare tinted stamp. Here is a regular stamp with darker shading. In the ACSC (Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue), the stamp comes in two regular shades - Dark Green and Deep Dull Green.

With tinted paper on the left.
