Love the postings of your broadcasting stamps! Thank you!

Hey ... I've checked the freestampcatalogue site mentioned previously .. thank you for that reference ... a very good resource!

So I ask ... why does almost every resource I've checked not break out this theme for separate reference? What a cumbersome project indeed to have to search so much when these days we have the technical capability to search and sort these stamps by various sub-categories even?

Can anyone please provide me with guidance on how to start a Broadcast Communications topical theme? What sites would this be a good fit to have such a group?

Thank you once again for your help and interest!

matt

I collect and repair vintage radios and televisions, so when I saw this thread, it interested me and I immediately started to look for some things I have that could be worth sharing here.
I will photograph what I can and post here soon.

Here is one I photographed earlier.

In the background of this image, behind the Urania Clock, the Fernsehturm (Television Tower) can be seen (it's that spire thing). This tower broadcast various communist propaganda messages by radio and television, and later was used by several non-communist affiliated broadcasters.

I love this stamp because it combines so much that I already love into one: The Urania Clock, radio and television broadcasting, and East German history.

Irish television licence savings stamp. These were used mostly by older people to safely save money to pay the television licence fee. This is an old one I was given when I was a child. The current face value of these stamps is €4.

English television licence validation stamps. Licences for colour and monochrome televisions were separate and had a huge price difference.

Radio cuckoo

Radio Ljubljana began broadcasting in 1928 and was the first radio station in Slovenia, quickly becoming a central medium for sharing news and culture. From the very beginning, its signature sound was a cuckoo call, marking the exact time and becoming a symbol of radio broadcasting. Among European radio stations, Ljubljana's cuckoo was unique, as others mostly used musical clips or sound effects like ticking clocks.
