I found this stamp at a yard sale and it's framed with a merchant marine picture. Somebody offered me $50 and I was wondering if it was worth anything. Thanks!!!

I believe I would have taken the 50!

Unless there's something else with it, finding someone who'll pay $50 for a stamp worth a cent is the stuff of dreams.

Maybe the Merchant Marine picture it is framed with has a famous person autograph? Otherwise, I would have jumped at the $50 (and maybe even $5).

The stamp shown is worth about 1 - 1.5c.

Can you show us the rest of it? The stamp itself, is not really worth writing home about.

The stamp is worth at least 3 cents - it can still be used!

True, to use it as postage, it's 3c! To sell it, though, would be tough to get 2c.

The framed picture plus stamp is nice looking! I would guess about $5-$10 to an interested party.

The picture appears to depict the US Merchant Marine Academy. Possibly a graduate or relative of a graduate offered you the $50.
