NZ KGV SC #176 Over Inking

Not much reference in the Scott about New Zealand varieties, especially KGV. Here is a NZ Sc #176 (perf 14x14 1/2) w/o watermark (or I couldn't find one). This particular stamp is way over inked at the top. Is this a one off or is there a plate variety that Scott doesn't recognize?



And just for what it's worth, there isn't mention of color variations in Scott either. Here's a picture of four different Sc #176's.

Stanley Gibbons New Zealand Concise catalog says, "Stamps from booklet panes often have blurred, heavy impressions."

Stanley Gibbons does not give information on nuances of color (green is the only word used) Campbell Paterson gives slight value differences for most of the 7 or 8 different color varieties among the listed printings. Also, Campbell Paterson provides information on identifying the watermarks and papers of these stamps throughout their many years of use.

I suspect that the colors you show would be identified in Campbell Paterson as 1.) yellow green, 2.)green, 3.) deep green and 4.) green. The two color varieties C.P. lists at a substantial premium are bronze green, from the initial printings on De La Rue paper (1915), and deep dark green from the Cowan chalky paper, perf 14 printings (1927).

Not seen anything like that prior.
