Hello, I have this stamp which I think I cancel was done by hand, but I can't understand the wording. Also the stamp if I didn't make a mistake in the measurement, could it be 596?

My best guess is the cancel reads DUSTIN/OKLA. This is a cancel in a rectangular box, a type often found on parcels. It is not a precancel.

What measurements did you make? The design size may match, but the perf gauge measurement does not match a #596.

Comparing the left side with the bottom, there are two different gauges between horizontal and vertical sides. Do you know then what stamp this could possibly be?

Thank you for your answer for canceling. Regarding the measures of the stamp, my so-called ball odontometer is often not accurate on certain stamps.

It is important to obtain the proper tools to enjoy the hobby to the fullest. This includes a perforation gauge.

That said, the combined image shows the perforations are different by about a half a cycle in the length/width of a stamp, which is very close to 2cm. The only Scott catalog number matching this feature is Scott 632, which is perf 11 x 10.5, which also comes in the this yellow-green shade.

josef61, you should be using the closest match to a measurement on the gauge. There will be a good number of stamps that will not have perfs that fall exactly on the half-steps on the gauge. If you find you need to measure perfs more exactly, think about getting a Gibbons Instanta (not an old one) or a Scott Multi-gauge, accurate to a tenth.

Earlier US perfs will not be exact matches on a regular perf gauge since they are based on inches and not millimeters. A Sonic Imagery Labs gauge is probably still available. You will have to learn which exact perf goes with which issue.
