I ran across this cancellation and would like to know a little bit about it. Circular, with the city name, Managua, in the centre, it has no identifying date which is usually expected in a cancel.
Is this a form of Killer in a duplex cancel or a means of demonetizing the stamp? Or is it just a marking applied by a dealer at some point to produce some "used" material?
These circular cancels were used as killers, with a CDS struck elsewhere on the originating cover.
Leon and Granada cancels have been reported forged by DeThuin. There are probably others. You will find these type killers on Seebecks, often on the high values. Those are likely forgeries or at best, favor cancels.
