A fellow collector just called me and told me Robert Coulson has passed away of an apparent heart attack this morning. I know he will be missed by many on this forum as he was a prolific poster. I will miss his posts on varieties he shared many with us.

Rest in peace Robert.

Mike

Incredibly sad news. Absolutely loved Robert's posts - it just isn't going to be the same without him. Thanks for the info. Going to go flyspeck in his honour for a while…

Oh no! I didn't make the connection to Wert until the last post. His infectious "fly specking" will indeed be missed. RIP.

Robert and I started our relationship by occasionally crossing swords but found ourselves exchanging many emails. I considered him a friend and over the last year or two we communicated quite a bit privately. He helped me better understand his enjoyment of flyspeccing and who he was as a person. He sent me this image of himself and his wife when he was 17 and another of him in the past few months.

Deepest condolences to his family and friends, I know that I will not be alone in missing him.

So sad to hear this.
Whenever I saw a new post of wert's I wondered
what is he up to now and what new variety has he discovered?
Robert/wert made this forum interesting and he will

Sad news indeed.

Always enjoyed his posts about possible new varieties and ensuing discussions on this forum.
He truly had a zest for wanting to help educate others too. He and another person just had an article in the BNAPS paper in October.

I had a couple email conversations with him since I joined this forum and became long distance friends, as he was a gentleman who truly enjoyed collecting and studying postal material.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mike
