Saddened to hear this. Wert's flyspecking and comments will be missed by so many of us. RIP Robert.

This gentlemen's prolific and informative posts were instrumental in motivating me to start collecting Canadian stamps. His influence was pervasive and continues on, as evidenced by the number of tributes posted here. Thank you and godspeed, wert.

Such sad news. Robert was so enthusiastic about his flyspecks. This is a great loss for the community.

Of the 40 topics on the curent "Canada " section, Robert created 11 - an indication of the value he added to discussions of Canadian-related collecting. I can't add more to the wonderful comments made by the preceding posters, other than to state my own desire to immediately check my collection regarding any new information that Robert imparted. Many are collectors. Robert was a philatelist.

This is awful to hear and I also have enjoyed his enthusiasm and constant hunt and wonder, especially for stamps that many of us don't even give a second thought to. He will be very very missed :(

Sad news. I enjoyed Wert's posts and always checked my stamps to see if I could find his varieties. My condolences to his family.

So sad to hear this belatedly.

Was a huge contributor.

Perhaps he is now flyspecking from above, and maybe his postings live on

RIP
