Hi! I recently got an interesting 1932 Tuva overprint that I am guessing is a forgery, yet I am not 100% sure. Are there any Tuva experts that can weigh in on this? Does anyone have any suggestions for references? I have an snapshot from a Russian catalog that looks different regarding the overprint. I have seen another forgery (on black background) which is different from mine (red bkg). I am not sure how many of these stamps were overprinted or the varieties...so I thought I would ask for help.

Stampo - Your stamp was overprinted in September 1932 by numbering machine in Kizil, Tuva.

Hi Rogdcam, Thank you for the reference. The issue is, the stamp if legitimate has a rather high catalog value and has been previously forged (see the issue with the black background as a forged example). If the legitimate overprint is represented in the Russian catalog I found, mine is definately a forgery. Note the serif on the 1 is very different. If there was an alternative setting on the printing device, which is seen on another of the set, it may still be fine.

Ah, sorry about that. I have no doubt that your stamp is forged. The numbers are all wrong. You can find other examples if you use the Cherrystone search function.
