Anyone else see the full page ad from gsquared7 in Linn's? I guess he couldn't get a loan from his bank.

It drives me nuts when people reference something vague and provide no link or other info. If we did not see it can we know what it is? |

I also don't subscribe but sometimes read the classifieds. Please post the link, or better yet the actual copy or a readable image. |

Read Linn's for decades. No longer. Not very relevant for me any longer for the price. |

I can not post a link that I do not have. I also do not posses a physical copy that I can scan (someone else showed me the ad). The gist of it is he is looking for people to send him $10,000 minimum that he will use to buy stamps that he would then sell and split the profits with the investor. |

It might sound like an odd proposal, but this is something that I DID with a small group of investors in the 1990s. I solicited investors to provide funds for me to purchase and sell stamps/covers, and "split" the profits with them. There was a contract that I provided that detailed the terms. After 1 year they could withdraw some/all funds and profits or keep their funds invested.
This worked out for more than two years. I stated clearly that I would receive 2x the profit that they would receive (to compensate for my work).
Yes, this was to provide funds that I didn't have, and I did not prefer to get a loan. I could test out a business model, and not need to go through a formal business loan process. |

Obviously targeted to investors rather than actual collectors, hoping that the uninformed with gobs of dough will latch onto the "rArE sTaMpZ = mUcH mOnEyS" concept. |

Not for me. There is a lot of money floating around these days but wonder if he is advertising elsewhere. |

So an ebay seller needs more capital for inventory purchases because they are so successful that they cannot fund the inventory purchases themselves. |
