Was hoping to add to my meager Private Die collection today. Looks like its going to stay meager. Prices are mostly thru the roof.
All in all, incredible Revenues for sale.

I sat through a lot of yesterday's session looking for a couple of WW bargains. While the bidding was not crazy the bargains were not to be had.

Assuming that all of the bids shown are actually legitimate, which I strongly doubt. An "auction house" to be avoided like the plague. Their machinations are well known in the collecting community.

Most if not all of the M&M's probably did sell; I didn't see anything that looked horribly out of place. I did see a few that went a little high, and a few that I thought went low.

I did see one revenue that was put up as mint that looked like I could see part of a cleaned pen cancel.

Some of the M&M's stayed at starting price. I dont think anyone bid on the RO115u and a few others. This was my first auction thru SAN, and I won just one Private Die.
Can anyone tell me how they invoice for the purchase? I did not get any email yet.

Edit to update, did receive invoice.

There were some usa items I was interested in at this auction. For these, prices realized were in line with similar items based on ebay (solds), Century Stamps, Cohen, Miller's, etc. Pattern seemed to be slightly less than 50% CV for things that were not highly graded (ie VF LH).

As a side note, I still have trouble bidding on things >$100 without seeing it in person.

I guess the best advice is when traversing a mine field is to avoid the mines.
I have picked up a few things from them and so far have been satisfied.
