Hi all got this in a batch of stamps recently one side has the regular 8.4 die cut perf but the other side has some weird modified cut. Could this cut be the bitter end of the stamps on a print roll when they printed the bulk roll before converting the stamps into smaller rolls? Just dont know how a stamp could get this kind of a die cut.
I thought it might have been some end of roll thing. Thinking on how they produce these in larger rolls would the first one in the next roll have the same cut? But that leads to another question of when did they die cut the rolls in production? I guess what I am asking would there be a little bit on the start of the next roll with a perf before the first stamp?
Here's another example of what's frequently called the 'wavy die cut', which can occur at both the beginning and end of a coil. The wavy cut can be on either side of the regular die cuts, or even go through them.
This example shows the regular die cuts to the left but a couple of tips are cut off.
