This stamp is either a Scott 408 (imperforate, SL watermarked), or a Scott 481 (imperforate, unwatermarked), used, as it is a design type A140. Scott 408 was available for postal use in 1912, and 481 in 1916-17. Both have a catalog value in VF sound condition at about $1.

Yes. You will need to check for a watermark in order to properly identify since it does not appear to be offset printed. Watermarked would make it a Scott 408 and unwatermarked would make it a 481.
