Spain - 1874 10 Peseta With Perfin Line

Recently received in a lot this Spain 1874 10 peseta (high value of set), Scott 210, Edifil 152.

Has a single line of partially punched perfins horizontally across. Trying to figure out what the significance of this is. Doesn't match with perfins I'm familiar with, nothing mentioned in the Edifil classic Spain catalogue, internet searching not successful so far. Also trying to decipher the writing on the back, perhaps an experts signature?

Anyone familiar with this on classic Spain stamps?

It is not matching the perforation on the stamp, so it was not done by the perforating machine at the time of perforation. This makes it a damaged stamp instead of an oddity. What happened to it?, we can only guess.

I wonder if it's a fiscal punched cancel. That's a high face value stamp for postal purposes.

Agree it was done later, not as part of the production process.

CV for postally used is $1900. A fiscal cancel is a good possibility - will look more into that. Thanks!

Well, I don't know anything but such line perforation in Spanish stamps, but there are some similar perfins in other countries. One is even mentioned in official stamp catalogs: the Austrian "Tiller-Zähnung", and German or French companies are known to have used such lines as well.

It is good and it seems that it was certified by Graus, possibly before its breakage because it is still a broken stamp, it is not a tax cancellation.

2 - Left saucer line broken and not converging.
