Hi,
I bought a Wurttemberg collection, and have found several bullseye, SOTN Stuttgart cancels. Wanted to see if anyone can tell me about the cancels-- they are beautiful, but look like they're philatelic in nature.

Are they precancels? First Day? All of the set with the exception of the 7.5c are dated 10/6/16, but the Scott Classic Specialized doesn't have dates of issue.

Appreciate any info here-- Thanks, Ray

In Germany, whole sets would be stuck to a card and canceled to order. A lot of the more perfect cancellations came from these cards, and I think that is what happened here.

Looks like all of them were cancelled on the same day except the second one. Do most of them still have their gum?

These are philatelic cancels, as are the vast majority of cancels on this series. As such, they are attractive but have minimal value. The exception is the second (orange) stamp which appears to be genuinely used.

October 6, 1916 was a popular day for philatelic cancels in Wurttemberg it seems. Both for this set and another official set.

6th of October 1916 was First Day of issue for both series.

Common CTO series with very low value.

The 7,5 pgf orange is also low in value even proparly used
