Canceling Device From Museum In Doylestown

Hey just wanted to share with you a picture of a postal canceling device from a recent trip to Doylestown PA. We went to the Mercer Museum and had a short look around at the eclectic collection of stuff that people used in work and play over the past years. While looking at some other stuff this caught my eye. Looks like its missing the date part of it though.

what is missing sadly, and I doubt, recorded anywhere, is the sound of these things as they hit paper and leather.

I recall, to my delight, the sound as one walked into the Perth GPO
to visit my sister in law, (A GPO "Jiffy" girl)
The sound echoed through the vaulted ceilings of perhaps 20 or so, clerks cancelling mail.
It was kind of intoxicating.

A very unusual style not consistent with a standard USPOD device.
The wavy lines are far more typical of a machine cancel, not a handstamp. It appears the circular ring usually containing the city/state is missing, but the changeable date slugs are in the central slots.
Is has the closest resemblance to some of the Multipost cancels applied privately by mailers similar to these:
