Yeah the whole
ebay sync thing was not handled well. I don't use it at all, but understand the frustration of those who did.
Pretty clear that what happened is that
ebay changed their interface software (permissions or architecture) and that stopped Hip from being able to update
ebay's system when items sold on Hip. Now the interface is partially back, but only works one way - from
ebay to Hip. (technically speaking Hip now only has read-only, but not write access to
ebay's API). Now sellers request, and Hip will close items on
ebay now for them (I don't know the specifics).
IMO, Hip was fortunate
ebay allowed them to hook into their API for so long for the 2-way sync process. It's the danger of being the tail on the big dog....
