Wow - incredible. So many varieties and multiples of 67,75,76,76a, including mint and gorgeous used copies. Am I to understand this is coming up for sale soon? (When?)
Does anyone know how long it took and during what period these were collected? The cost would have been incredible.
Well, I hope I can get a chance at one or two of these items someday...

Thanks for posting - amazing exhibit. Hard to imagine being able to find all those examples, not to mention being able to afford them. |

Cannot imagine the cost! Especially with all of the "Only recorded example" notations. Thanks for sharing! Ray

For some reason I was shocked that Larry had formed this amazing collection. He was the first dealer, or "real" collector for that matter, that I met back in the early 1970's. He owned Suburban stamps in Springfield MA and as a young boy I stepped into his shop right off of Main Street and was in awe. The showcase was full of amazing stamps and he was kind and patient. He held Saturday auctions in his store. A couple of times I left meager bids with him that he had to know had no chance and he accepted them with solemnity. I bought my first National album from him. There was a massive ornate safe in the shop that really sparked my imagination as to what was locked away within. Larry was just so unassuming and friendly. Great memories and maybe why I kept on going with the hobby. |

Larry still owns Suburban Stamps and sells through net price lists. I think this one was November (?) of last year |

By the way, not in the exhibit photocopy, I believe that Larry previously owned one of the 5˘ A grill stamps (Scott 80 - current Scott Catalogue value is $400,000) |

SPQR - Many thanks for that info. He must be operating out of his home now. Since he has been "operating for over 48 years" he must have just opened his shop when I wandered in. Brings a smile to my face. I believe that he expertizes for the PF and PSE? |
