Beer Stamp - What's On The Selvage?

This one is currently on ebay, but I won't be bidding against you. What struck me was the odd artifact on the selvage of the stamp. It looks a bit like some sort of logo, but I don't think that's it. I have a guess, but I thought I'd throw it out to the gang and see what other ideas you might have.

A screw head holding the plate was not tightened quite enough, so it picked up some ink.

Screws were / are made from steel wire,
the heads punched in process
I guess the image shown was the design of the die, from that particular producer.

This type of visible screw head printing has occasionally shown up on even earlier issues of beer stamps.

There is nothing unusual here, beer is expected to have a head, why wouldn't beer stamps?
