Just looking thru a lot of Stamps with Bileski notes and found this interesting collection.

Apparently it is a gummed perf 12 Admiral style stamp.

I have 2 sets of the block of 4 and 2 singles.

Any thoughts or comments?

Hard to tell from the picture, but it may be the Admiral is also inverted. /S

Of all the weird stuff that Bileski offered, I think this is a legit thing. The perfs and the gum should match also. But as he said, it's not really a stamp. Pretty good asking price for a not-stamp. It isn't mentioned in the 4th edition (1968-70) of his catalog.

I wonder if it was simply a test sheet for the perforation machine that was mistakenly tucked in with the other sheets.

Unless I am mistaken in my observation of the block of four, the vertical perforations look slightly bigger and better than the horizontal perforations. These line perforations were done using two different perforators. One for the vertical perforations and one for the horizontal perforations.
