I see this stamp has sold for as much as $250. And it's listed on ebay at prices ranging from $20 to $400. Can anyone explain what is going on with the disparity in the value? Thanks.

hac5x3, may I ask where has this stamp sold for the amounts up to $250?

Sellers on ebay can ask any amount they want. You can review items actually sold recently. The only Scott 690 currently listed there as actually sold was sold for less than a dollar. Even that was a bad buy in my opinion since it was listed as MLH and you can see parts of a hinge remnant.
