Who ever made it ,put the wrong flag on the stamp . That is not a North Viet Nam or a Viet Minh Flag it is a Soviet Flag .

The Soviet flag as well as Lenin's image is on a number of Vietnamese stamps of that era. The two countries had a significant relationship.

Ho Chi Minh was a communist and "world-wise" individual, but above all he was a pragmatist. So, with the threats of China and the USA, his alliance with the Soviets is completely understandable.

Didn't these originate in the 1950s, in which case Ho wasn't then "threatened" by China.

Dear uncle HO would never approve of a stamp with the Soviet flag alone and him .With other people with their flags yes but not him under their flag .That has a whole different meaning .
