I bought those stamps in 1968 (now listed on StampWorld for $1400+). Since my stamp albums were too narrow, I just separated the strip of 5 into two parts! I am so sorry for having done that!
It is worth considering, philatelic facepalm aside, that if you were attempting to sell them than you may fetch more independently rather than a strip. And regardless if that's the case, maybe just assume so so you feel better :)
Kelleher sold six of these strips in December. Five were lightly folded and went for around $2800 each. One was unfolded and went for $4400. There appears to be little appetite for separated strips, but you might still get a few hundred dollars.
@rogdcam, Unbelievable! The price of those cultural revolution period stamps are highly inflated! By the way, I have 80% of those shown in my collection.
To the OP, Whenever one looks at a past action,; I always think of the great black pitcher Satchel Paige, who would say "Don't look back, they are always gaining on you." An eloquent statement on our past activitity. Don't look back. Hindsight is always perfect. Regards, mark
during cultural revolution (1966-1976), philatelic (and most, if not all hobbies) was not allowed. The philatelic branch of posit office were closed and stamp albums could not be find in stores. We were limited to what we already have and had to hide the intend of collecting stamps.
Dang, I tried but rodg burst my bubble of hope that it was accidentally the right move. But hey, still nice stamps to own and still some nice value! :)
