I've always wanted to find a way to enlarge a particularly beautiful stamp (e.g., an engraved commem) so I can display it in a picture frame and hang it on a wall. Examined too closely, obviously it'd be pretty rough, but from a couple of feet or more, the beauty of the stamp would be clear. Does anyone have an idea for how to do this, ideally without using a photo enlargement service?

You can do it yourself if you have a scanner/printer or know someone who has one

Thanks, Peter, but I thought of that. The color on my scanner is pretty awful if I want an accurate depiction, though. I've ordered a wi-fi enabled microscope, so when it gets here I'll take a shot, blow it up to 8 1/2 x 11, and try printing it. I'll show you folks the stamp photo and a photo of the resulting scan, in case you're interested.

You might want to see if Wikipedia has an image of the stamp you want to display. Many of these images are of high quality. Check out https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/...nited_States and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Stamp/Europe. There are probably other sites that have nice images of stamps that could be used.

Thanks, ekbustad; some amazing images on Wikimedia, all right. Here's one example: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe..._pm_B002.jpg

Now all I have to do is figure out how to print them. I'll try using my home printer.

If your printer doesn't provide the result you want, I would suggest contacting a local copy/print shop. You may well be able to show up with the file on a thumb drive, have them print out a copy to whatever size you want, and I don't think it would be too expensive. A few $$$ for a color print. If you go extremely big, then you could start running into an expensive project.
