Recently came by very nice Safe and Lindner pages for Egypt/UAR in 14 ring binders, but I am really confused at the ordering, arrangement and general organization of the pages. Can anyone out there save me from hours of Scott Catalogue studying? My main problem(s) are the placement of Syria stamps and having multiple pages for the same year with Syria, Egypt and UAR being separated. Any assist would be appreciated.
I think collectors ordinarily keep Egyptian and Syrian stamps from the relatively brief UAR period in separate albums, with the rest of their Egyptian and Syrian stamps. Once Syria abandoned the UAR, the latter simply becomes Egypt again. Do SAFE and Lindner actually mix stamps from both countries on the same pages?
The Syrian and Ebyptian UAR issues are quite distinct, and the countries used different currencies, so they really don't naturally fit together. Of course, we all order our albums as we wish!
For GeoffHa; The stamps are not mixed on the pages, but the years in the album skip and go back and forth. I will just have to rearrange to the order I like which is chronologically.
