The Hawaii might be a fake - if I read the catalog correctly they only lis that double overprint with one strong and one weak, not both strong.

Thanks for the info, you are absolutely correct, I did not notice that before. Came in a lot and none were identified as errors, found them as sorting through many envelopes, album pages & stock cards many years ago. Looking at the two overprints now and comparing them to others top one looks a bit sketchy. Thanks again for the insight. Gets transferred to my fakes and forgeries reference collection.

Look at the first I of provisional. The right serif (foot) should be broken; those are genuine. If the serif is complete it is a fake overprint.

Good to know. Looks as if both the overprints are bad thank you for the info - may I ask the source you found the info in. Might be a book worth getting.
