I've attached a letter from Boyd's City Dispatch from 1928 which I thought might be interesting to some. This letter is decades after the stopped being a local post and became a seller of mailing lists and related business as mentioned in their letterhead

Thank you for posting that tidbit. I have a great deal of Boyd's peripheral material but was unaware of the Australian connection. |

stampdorkman - I am a Boyd's collector and there is another gentlemen who has also collected and exhibited for many years. You can find a lot of info about Boyds at pennypost.org in the journals we have published. Most are available for non-members in searchable format. Boyd's evolved from a private post into a company that made mailing lists and mailing labels for sale, and published catalogs well into the 20th century. I have seen a number of letters similar to yours, in which stamp collectors requested samples of their stamps, which until supplies ran out, they provided. John Bowman |

locals4me - I have a great deal of ancillary Boyd's material as I purchased the balance of Paul Nixon's (a NJ dealer) Boyd material. He had originally purchased the contents of the Boyd Offices when they closed. I have ledgers, portraits from Blackstone Studios in NY, vouchers, price lists, flyers, etc. I also had to purchase the balance of his Boyd Local stamps which was quite substantial, including #20L14, 20L15 (incl some cpl sheets), 20L16, 20L23, 20L24 (condition varied as this is what he had left after years of selling them) and a large quantity of 20L56 in cpl Sheets - which I mostly sold off. So I would enjoy exchanging info on Boyd's with you. |

Stampdorkman - I am not sure how we exchange emails on this site, but *** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. *** The Boyd's letterhead stationary is very interesting - I've not seen the type with two stamp images in red at the top. John |
