Howdy, recently acquired this with some bits and bobs and I had a few questions for our US experts here. How real is this? Is the color right? Is it genuinely imperf or does it appear trimmed? How badly does the herringbone cancel affect the value (if it's real that is)? What do I know about supposedly big money stamps...

(Edit: the only reason I had thought it was r84a is because a dealer had labelled it as such-- of course anybody would want their stamp to be big money instead of a 20$ thing)

It is not a genuine R84a. It is a R84c that has had the perforations trimmed off. The color and the paper are not correct for an imperforate stamp. Also, a herringbone cancel is rarely seen on an imperforate stamp, they came along much later.
