Hello!

I would love to get an honest valuation of this small collection, what it might fetch on auction like ebay, etc. or your opinion in general.

Many thanks! Best wishes from Dan

Hi,

The England collection you have with the penny black and 2d blues will bring a reasonable price as will the 10 shilling seahorses.

Beautiful Collection - You have many nice early stamps in very nice condition. Loved seeing the Sweden, France, GB, Hong Kong and Hermes heads. I also see some very lovely cancels. I will let the experts weigh in on $s.

Looks nice.
Would not hurt for you to invest in a Scott Classic Catalog to assist you.
If you are bound to sell, try and find a good local dealer to bring to for an in-person estimate.

There are some really nice stamps in there. You may want to take the better ones and sell them separately.

Papal States stamps = usually not the real deal. Almost certainly worthless reprints or fakes.

Definetly some nicely cancelled items, so there will be cancel interest, for numeral and ring cancels. Should be checked for scarcity. Depending on valuation, it may be 2 or possibly 3 nice lots.
And no expert here on Vatican, but Casey is probably right about some of those Vatican state issues.

You got a few hundred dollars worth but you may have some even better . A lot of the stamps need to be I.D. better ......some of those cancels and early issues need time and experience to determine which ones they are .It can not be done by a scan of a full page .

none of the danish or swedish cancels are rare, and condition is mixed. Swedish people would require much higher quality on those stamps, as would danish collectors.

but floortrader isn't far off I think. between 2-400.

i would chuck it on postiljonen.se as it is.

Nice selection there - some good looking Belgian Congo cancels & some value in the early French. Definitely break it up into country lots or even selected singles if looking to sell.

I am rather new to it but from what little I know of World stamps I would second that you have a few UK stamps that would have some value.

Many of your stamps are quite lovely --- even if they may not always meet the level require by some world collectors.

So, I must concur with the seasoned philatelists that the greatest value of your collection lies in a handful of your collection but overall it has sufficient interest that even the lower valued ones would be of interest (and as for Papal States, I defer to the experts regarding its dubious authenticity).

One rule I have learned from this forum and numismatics, is this simple rule to keep in mind when considering the value of your collection - 80-% of its worth will be in 20% of the collection (unless you are wealthy and have a trusted buyer helping you get only the choice stuff or extremely committed and studious about philately).
Thanks for sharing your delightful collection.
