For those that are interested, this lot that is described by Kelleher has two errors in it (well, actually three, if you include the date).

First, this stamp is actually a business college practice stamp, used by Eastman National Business College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and not an essay.

I illustrated most of the stamps in the set in my book, as follows.

Second, this "essay" was in fact illustrated in Turner's book, as follows.



In any event, the "suggested bid" is far less than what these particular stamps have been selling for. They are quite rare. See below for a different denomination in the set, and an example used on a 1868 practice check.
