After decades of looking for this double transfer I finally found one. There is slight doubling at the area below the top left star with the strongest being the label at the bottom left in the area of "N.Y." to the right and the label at the bottom right showing in the area of "REV'to the right.

There is a good chance these perfs are legitimate being on the right side. The stamp could be from the furthest right column or possibly the one before. The perforator could have misaligned the sheet and stopped in time to realign the sheet. The perforations that are diagonal and multiple are most likely fake.

JoNo - I think you are being very optimistic about those perforations being from Butler & Carpenter. Look to the right end and estimate where the next round hole should be and it is not there. I am of the opinion that these perfs were added long after the stamp was used and found its way to the nineteenth century dealer who was adding perfs to enhance his stock.

to my eyes they do not match the realm ones on the stamp. they appear to slant up from left to right and are too clean looking. size and shape are also wrong looking. a closer look may be in order.

The extra perfs appear to be fake; much too round and clean to be genuine. The DT appears to be genuine. Nice find, it's not one that I have at this point.
