This item description seems to contradict its own catalog description.

(i.e. if it has "misperfs at the bottom," then how can it be part perf.?)

Not au fait with US nomenclature, but "perf 3 sides" be the same as "part perf" perhaps?

Hi Rod,

These revenue stamps were issued without perforations, with partial perforations (horizontal or vertical), or fully perforated.

They were not issued with partial perforations in one direction and also with additional partial perforations in the other.

So, this item is a fully perforated stamp, that has been trimmed at the top.

Jim

Ah! Thanks Jim,
A US Thing, I was unaware of.
GB seems to offer "part perf" as anything that has one or more straight sides, as I understand it.

Maybe I'm tired but vertical perfs seem to be on an angle?

They are, slightly. But both sides are at the same angle, so they are genuine. No one in their right mind would add perfs to an imperf One Cent Proprietary in any case.

Not to mention that the stamp color and the ultra-late cancel date imply a late printing, which bars the possibility of it being a legit part perf.

That is correct, this could never be a part-perf due to the color, paper and late cancel.
