1935 KGV Silver Jubilee Gilbraltar 6-D Sg116 ~ Damaged Turret

Greeting from Sydney to the Stamp Community collectors. I have the attached 1935 King George V Silver Jubilee issue from Gilbraltar 6d SG116, with 'Damaged Turret' and 'Flying Saucer/Kite/Bird'. Wonder if any collector is able to provide any reference in relation to this stamps, or have something similar from this 1935 KGV Silver Jubilee Omnibus Series. Thanks.

The "flying saucer" looks like a foreign object or a drop of blue ink. The "damaged torrent" looks like a piece of foreign material on top or something similar. Anyway, non of these are matching plate flows from Stanley Gibbons catalog. Also, it is hard to tell from your scan. Needs more focus.

Hi danko, Greeting from Sydney, Australia. Thanks for your reply. You are correct that this Gilbratar 'variety' is not listed in Stanley Gibbon catalogue. It could be the damaged turret in the early stage. I have a few other and will share in this forum for reference. The highest resolution from my scanner is 600dpi. I will try to rescan in higher resolution when and if I find the need to buy a better scanner in the near future. Have a good day. Regards, ninhao

Here are two more examples of 'Damaged Turret' from Kenya Uganda Tanganyika 30c SG125 and Straits Settlement 12c SG258. These 'Damaged Turret' are probably in the very early stage and therefore may not be considered as prominent variety under Stanley Gibbon. Wonder if any other 1935 KGV Silver Jubilee collectors have similar to share. Thanks.

Hi dando, managed to scanned the 6d Gibraltar in 2400dpi and using the Image Optimizer tool to highlight the 'Damaged Turret'. You are correct that The 'flying saucer' appears to be problem during the initial scan. This has disappeared from the 2400dpi scan version.

According to Stanley Gibbon British Commonwealth Catalogue, the 'Damaged Turret' variety appears on the Waterlow & Sons. However Gibraltar is printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co and therefore is interesting to see this variety, probably in the early stage.

Another variation of 'Damaged Turret' printed by De La Rue & Co from Kenya Uganda Tanganyika 30 cents SG125.
