dando, managed to scanned the
6d Gibraltar in 2400dpi and using the
Image Optimizer tool to highlight the '
Damaged Turret'. You are correct that The 'flying saucer' appears to be problem during the initial scan. This has disappeared from the 2400dpi scan version.
According to
Stanley Gibbon British Commonwealth Catalogue, the '
Damaged Turret' variety appears on the
Waterlow & Sons. However
Gibraltar is printed by
Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co and therefore is interesting to see this
variety, probably in the early stage.
