While cataloging & placing in my album these issues I saw a differentiation between the 3k Strip & the 10K strip I received.

The 3K Strip when looking at the red & pink flowers of either 5664/5665, the flower edge shows clean from the flower edge to the background field.

The 10K Strip shows a definitive WHITE border around these flowers on both issues. If this is verified would Scott issue a sub# or alpha designation??

I took a second look at the issues I placed in the album. The 3K is without border on all stamps on PNC of 5. However, when looking at the 10K PNC-5, the border seems less pronounced and is indeterminate on the stamps to the left of the PN.

So this is then maybe a 'color shift' ??? (Just when I thought I had something big.

After further eye strain I think it is a color shift, more prominent on the 10K than the 3K. I looked at the strips (both 3K&10K) and I found a 'small hint' of a border on some of the 3K strip. Need a glass to see it. On the 10K the glass is not needed in most cases.

Edited by RB to correct.

There were almost certainly printed by the exact same plate and the only difference (besides possibly the back numbers) was they cut part of the printing 10,000 long and part 2,000 long. There have been times in the past where initially they only released one size and then later the other size and then there could possibly be some difference.

The only difference should be the back liner paper will have either four- or five-digit counting numbers on every 10th stamp.

Peter: I'll give it a try.. I'll scan as JPEG then post. I bought the 25strip of each 3K &10K. (not being computer literate I may even try a re-size & arrow location on the JPEG edit prior to posting. -- I'm still trying to figure out how to program my fit-watch received 4 months ago)

Sorry, I can't seem to get a picture to post. However, I did scan the 3K & 10K strips as a PDF (did as JPEG as well) couldn't cut/paste or copy or download jpeg file. (tried Chrome & Explorer as I am a user of Edge mostly).

I did take the scan of the strips & magnified to a high xxxxx & found that not all 3K issues were without a tiny hint of border (just not easily visible without the magnification), & that the 10K strip did not have every stamp with the border . So.. I am thinking it is just a random color shift of some sort & not a regular printing from a different plate design.

Maybe someone with more computer savvy then me could help me out by posting their strips. (I think I jumped the gun on this as the more times I look at the different strips, the more there are inconsistencies with them relative to what I initially thought I had found. (how do fly speckers do this???)
