I've read the suggestions and first steps for those who have
inherited collections, so I hope I'm not making any novice mistakes here.
I'm in Northern CA and have
inherited my grandfather's stamp collection, most from late 1800s, early 1900s. Some are catalogued (interesting old collecting books and other stuff like miniature WW2 war effort posters) and some are loose.
I've looked up some things on line and there appears to be value, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. Have contacted a few shops in my area with no reply.
I'm not a collector myself so my interest is finding out what I have on my hands and selling or passing these on to someone who will better appreciate and preserve if it is not a particularly valuable collection.
Thanks.
