HI I'm Clarence. I'm New Here And Appreciate The Use Of Your Knowledge Of Stamps.

Hi my name is Clarence. I inherited over 200,000 stamp's from my Grandpa. I'm not very knowledgeable about stamp's. My real interest is gold mining. I don't understand all the different perforation's and varietie's. I'm trying to learn. My real goal is to learn how to identify the stamp's.From a few stamp's I have got help with and researched on my own my Grandpa was very knowledgeable about stamp's and did an excellent job with the one's he identified. Most are already organized by Scott number. I have US stamp's and pretty much stamp's from every country. My Grandpa put over 60 year's into his collection and none in the family wanted it when he passed away. I have sold a few stamp's. There are a few I'm keeping because they were his favorite's.I live in Longview Washington and if anyone is local I would love to chat with you. Thanks for allowing me to join. I'm here to learn so be patient if I screw up. Thank's again. Here are a couple picture's to start out. Maybe someone can help out with Scott number or value?

Hello, and welcome to the Forum. Lots of good people here that can help you out in many ways. One important point, though, is that the rules strictly prohibit any promotions or selling of items until you have accumulated 50 quality posts. So, keep on posting questions or issues in other threads (not this one), and we'll help you out as we can.

Hi Clarence, and welcome. You may sell stamps here, but you need to post 50 times before you can.
Having said that, I enjoyed looking at your stamps even though I do not collect any of them. One suggestion. If you post any more pictures, please take the stamps out of the stockbook so we can see them more clearly

Hi Clarence, You might try to find a stamp club near you. Many clubs have members who would be happy to offer some advice on what you have and how best to sell it. It can be a little overwhelming when you first confront a large collection without much background in the hobby. If you enter the words " inherited collection " in the search box, you will find a number of threads from people who have had this experience before you and some good general advice. Good luck.

Thank you everyone. Do any of you have idea's on any of these stamp's?I met a guy here in my town and he said the top stamp's are 599a599 or something like that. The second one's down he said are 595. I have no idea I'm just going by what he said. That's why I'm here so I canearn.

Many of these stamps were in production for many, many years and can have varieties. The common ones were issued in the millions and even billions. The odds of stumbling upon one of teh rare varieties is very, very small. You can learn all the basics of these US stamps on Stamp Smarter site and/or this community past threads.
