I am thinking a 161 that had something adhered to its face at some point.

That pinkish color that seeped into the back of the stamp came from somewhere, but no cancellation is visible or showed up using Retroreveal. So, it could be mint no gum (MNG), or used. We'll never know.

Put it under UV. It probably had a red cancel that someone tried to remove.

Or, it could have been stuck to a red envelope and it bled into the stamp when it was soaked off. Or, another stamp was stuck on red paper in the batch that was soaked. Just because it isn't cancelled doesn't mean it wasn't licked and stuck.

As for the face, I agree with rogdcam - it looks like something stuck to the front (maybe another mint stamp?) and it was removed a little roughly.
