Pretty sure that stamp only comes in Carmine. Could be a poor scan or just a really faded stamp.

A stamp whose color has been changed-intentionally or unintentionally-by contact with a chemical or exposure to light.

Old red and orange inks very often used lead, which is prone to sulphurization.
