Cheers Wkusau,
bear in mind, the "permanent" I have been using (and happy with)
is "straight off the roll"
Others have a second skin, one has to peel off, prior to use.

I'll have a bo peep at the removable, next time at the stationers.

I am a tad wary of "removable", one does not want to be faced with 5000 loose
mounts in 10 years time.

Any recommendation to use Scotch tape anywhere near a stamp collection needs to be thoroughly reexamined IMO.

I have a feeling that commercial albums (and maybe Palo as well) are sent to different countries for the attachment of mounts to the page. I have no idea on how many hingeless albums are sold every year but the number cannot be too huge (it's a purchase you buy once) so it would not be hard to find someone in a different country willing to add the mounts by hand.

I have done 2 complete Scott National albums, cutting/mounting clear Hawid mounts throughout. Additionally, I did Luxembourg and Ireland like that. It literally takes WEEKS to do this, many hours-long sessions. The cost of the mounts adds up too and there is some waste. If I had to guess, I'd say I spent about 75-100 hours doing my most recent Scott National. It looks amazing/professional, but it takes a ton of time to do it right. I also use Scott page protectors for each page, which helps keep stamps in place (the Hawid mounts are top opening) and also for putting certs behind the pages.

Wow - I admire your patience and attention-to-detail. The scope of this is above and beyond my capacity to understand, let alone attempt on my own...

If you knew all the sizes in advance and cut to length in mass, it can save a lot of time.

For me, if I have a lot of stamps to mount, I cut mounts for all stamps then organize in order in mounts on a Vario page, then mount, it is seems more efficient than doing the size, cut mount, mount. then repeat.
