hi community,

i am hoping to find some help. as many of you know I live in Europe (Netherlands)

this year I will be visiting the US for 10 days. I have a function to attend to on 21st October in Buffalo. I would like to visit some stamp shops and attend a show and/or exhibition. I will land in NY city.

i have not booked tickets yet because I want to try to fit flight dates to availability of philatelic adventures

is there anyone that knows of physical stamp shops in NY city (and surroundings) or the Buffalo area?

anyone know of shows/exhibitions in October weekend of 14/15/16 and/or 22/23 and/or 28/29/30

thank you!!

NOJEX 2022

I recall attending some years ago when visiting New York. I think I caught a bus from Manhattan to the location with no problem.

This is from the APS website. Ignore the cancelled notice for last years show. The page has not be updated apparently in a while.

Definitely verify the date elsewhere.

Hi Dutch. You might know this, but lots of info can be had on the APS website, www.stamps.org .They usually list all the shows, and you may find some dealer ads as well. For stamp shops you can also google "N.Y. stamp shops. Good luck, and have a great trip!

Peter

There is only 1 brick and mortar stamp shop in NYC. That is Champion Stamp Co Inc. 432 W 54th St, New York, NY 10019.

Thanks for the information about Champion stamp company. I'll be in NYC in late August and I believe it is pretty close to MOMA where my friend wants to go. I haven't been to a stamp stored in years. Should be fun.

MOMA is about a mile away, that is one of the widest parts of Manhattan. Just my opinion, but the MET is much better. :-)

I agree! Don't miss the Met if you visit New York. We went the year before the pandemic hit, a great day out.
