How do I find out if this is an authentic R84a?

It's 99.99% probability that it is trimmed from a perforated stamp.

Agree with revcollector - the margins are very small, so easily could have been trimmed from a perforated stamp.

That's only part of it. The impression is also wrong, the stamp is too washed out looking.
